I have this idea to spend the next weekends doing extreme road trips. I have no class on Fridays and I get out Thursdays at 1:45. I could easily go on road trips every weekend.
Nashville would be pretty easy when I have 3 days of no commitment. I could camp out instead of getting a hotel.
Denver would be a bit more of a challenge, but is possible. Wouldn’t see much. It’d be drive there then drive back. I’d need a second driver.
Chicago could be fun. I’d like to drive to every one of the contiguous US states before I graduate. Currently with Freshman year I’ve been to:
North Carolina
Virginia
Tennessee
Maryland
Deleware
New Jersey
Pennsylvania
New York
I plan on going down to Georgia this summer so that will get me SC too.

Philly is fun for a weekend (and not just cause it’s my hometown). You could also easily hit Florida.
Denver is fun but you wanna have a few days. Albuquerque if you like Breaking Bad; not a difficult two day drive. Or Dallas, that’d be about two days (and you really only need about a day in Dallas to be good).
I just was in Pittsburgh and it didn't suck.

I have a friend in Pittsburgh I could visit. My aunt lives in Philly (Havertown actually, but we always go to the city) so I’ve been there plenty. It’s a nice place, and I love visiting but I’d like to see new places.
Dallas seems nice. I think 10 hours of driving one way should be the max for a weekend trip.

If by hit florida, you mean with a few carpet bombs then yes I agree with that one! Not much to see there unless you want to make the trek all the way South.

Whereever you go, do not take the most direct route given here on google maps. The journey is more fun than the destination anyways! Otherwise it would be easier just to fly (and probably cheaper too). If you really want to drive, definitely try some of google’s “avoid highways” feature and of course check out anything interesting along the way. That is truly the advantage to driving, you can see more!

This is a fun idea. You’re well situated for a number of interesting places. 10h is a long driven bring an accomplice so that you’re well-rested and safe. You’ll alao be better able to enjoy your destination.
If you’re into camping, you don’t need to hit big cities at all - go to national and state parks, out-of-the way historic sites, etc. Just profit from changing your scenery.

I’m always in Nashville(home) or Knoxville(school). Hit me up on your way through.

You ought to go to Charleston, SC for a weekend! It’s like 5 hours from where you are and there’s tons of stuff to do in a weekend. I highly recommend it.

I’ve been there before! I think I visited a battle ship or something. I’m not much of a beach person though.

Respect, man. Nothing but respect. Good luck getting the lower 48. Alaska as a graduation celebration?

I don’t know, it might knock out some of the less exciting states by making Alaska a destination. Driving thought them to get there. If I had two weeks I would do it.
